'The Big Picture'

Welcome Whidbey Island soccer players and families!

Whidbey Island Youth Soccer Association (WIYSA) will once again be offering spring 2010 league soccer play for all teams aged U-10 and older from each of the three island clubs.  All spring soccer on island is open to players of all skills.  Players are free to register in any of the three clubs and are free to request to 'play up' if their skills are above their peers.  All players registering in U-6 through U-9 soccer will be placed on teams that stay within each soccer community so no traveling.

Select soccer is not offered on the island in the spring as is the case in most communities around the state.  Select soccer is played in the fall and in some cases can overflow into the spring.  These teams usually require players to attend tryouts and are then 'selected' to play on the team by the coaches.  Tryouts are usually late spring and early summer then play till Feb or March.

Because of Whidbey Islands small population size compared to off island communities very few select teams originate from here on the island.  Check with you local soccer club to see if this playing options is being offered for the fall 2010 season in your age division.

This website contains WISL rules, schedules, scores, and standings which can be printed or downloaded.  A host of other soccer items are contained here so please look around.

Spring season 2010 is in the planning stages.  The age divisions will be U-10, U-12, U-15, and girls will have a High School division that will play 7 v 7 and is open to all girls of High School age!  Spring season also means Soccerfest 2010 is just around the corner.

If you have questions, observations, or would like to make recommendations for future WISL seasons please contact your coach, club representative, or email the webmaster by clicking the link on the bottom of each page.
